I love my little egg son.

Had a wonderful Easter with Erin, Eric, Krista, and Isla. So blessed to have them so close.

Krista's first Shakespeare...

11 January 2026: For part of her Christmas gift, I got tickets for us to see Macbeth in Frederick (along with an annotated copy of the play). She was completely prepared and enrapt. I think she might be too smart?

After we met up with Erin, Eric, and Isla for dinner. (Erin took the picture.)

Another pretty good day!

29 December 2024: Hosted Erin and company, Tara and the boys, and my parents today for Christmas: Part 2. Pretty great time!

(this last one taken--obviously--shortly after everyone left)

25 December 2024: Blessed to spend the day with Erin, Eric, and the girls (and the dogs, one of whom was insistent on some face-licking...).

Thanksgiving 2024

28 November 2024:

[Catch-up post]

So thankful to have these four in my life and for the chance to spend the day with them.

The girls invited me to spend the night and watch Christmas movies with them, which delighted me. We watched Mickey's Christmas Carol, Frosty the Snowman, and Home Alone. Just a really lovely, cozy day.

Easter 2024

31 March 2024: Marshmallow Peeps are not my fav, but they helped my carrot cake look good enough to impress some of my *actual* favorite peeps.

So very blessed to get to spend every Easter with Erin, Eric, and the girls.

Bald Eagle State Park

4 July 2022:

[Catch-up post...]

Got to do some swimming, boating, and tubing. Nice way to spend the 4th when it's hard to feel that great about the country right now.

Easter 2022

17 April 2022: So incredibly blessed to have Erin, Eric, and the girls nearby every Easter. And today was also Erin and Eric's 12th anniversary.

700

25 November 2021: I am thankful on this Thanksgiving Day for 700 straight days of at least 10,000 steps. Spent the day with Erin, Eric, the girls, and Eric's dad and stepmom (and four (!) dogs). Lots to be grateful for.

4 April 2021: So grateful for a vaccine that made it safe to visit with the McNetts.

Thanksgiving 2020

26 November 2020: Quiet Thanksgiving meal at Erin and Eric's. Feel very blessed to have them and the girls close enough to celebrate safely. And very blessed that the weather was lovely and warm. Back home now with my three buddies, who are sleeping on the couch while I watch a rerun of Supermarket Sweep. Might go to bed by 10:00. It works.

Also, Erin made this PillowVeronica, which is adorable, soft, and huggable. Two of those adjectives also apply to RealVeronica.

"Simply splendid!"

13 June 2020: That's how my beloved little weirdo niece Krista described the fun we had today while hanging out with her, Isla, Erin, and Eric for the first time since January. I could go on, but I think this is enough: it was lovely and I am very lucky and grateful.

Easter 2019

21 April 2019: Got to spend Easter with Erin, Eric, Krista, and Isla.

Also Got a chance to look at one of Krista's notebooks today and found all kinds of delightfully sweet and weird bits of writing.

These are all the important questions, right?

No idea what's going on here, but my sister was a bit worried.

"Mermaids are cool and fun." Go ahead and prove her wrong.

I mean, right?

"Make shure you soar."

"Yay! We are funny and fun an cool."

"I like my mom and dad because they let me go to the doller bin at Target."

This is blurry, but she had it hanging by her bed:
"My Day!
1. wake up
2. east food
3. dress up
4. play
5. eat food
6. go to bed!"
Sounds like a good day!

1 April 2018: Once again, I got to spend Easter with Erin, Eric, Krista, and Isla: a wonderful way to spend the day.
