It came from her reading an email in which a student bitched her out over a grade, and then ended the message with a "Merry Christmas!" I had one student do the same exact thing.
Pay attention to people's rhetoric during the holidays and you'll see that they do this--they can say the most aggressive (or passive aggressive) things to you, and then end with a "Merry Christmas!"
Okay, that is pretty funny! I must not speak to enough passive-aggressive people, because I don't remember that ever happening to me. I am going to have to pay close attention to this next year. Too bad I have to wait 11 months for it. Somehow, I think that "Happy Family Day" (new, actual Ontario holiday in Feb.) or "Happy Some Other Random Holiday" just won't have the same effect.

Woah! I am wondering what inspired that comment? I sense some issues that need to be worked out.
